Community Giving

Peak One Surgery Center is dedicated to giving back to our community—both locally and globally, within and outside the health care arena. We believe local and global giving positively influences our employees and our community.

As part of this commitment, physicians and staff from Peak One Surgery Center contribute their time, energy, expertise and funding to a variety of projects.

Local Volunteer Efforts

Peak One Surgery Center encourages local volunteerism.  Our facility staff volunteer in Summit County at the local food bank, participate in food drives, worked with the county in COVID vaccination efforts and serve in other community service organizations.

Peak One Surgery Center currently sponsors numerous local charities and events including:

Peak One Surgery Center contributes to The Summit Foundation via the donor advised fund which allows us to specify charities and activities where our donations add value to our community.  Please visit the links to the charities and foundations above to learn more about their services and ways to help.

Medical Mission Trips

Peak One Surgery Center also supports its physicians and staff who participate in medical mission trips designed to provide care in the United States and abroad. Members of Peak One Surgery Center have donated hundreds of hours and their expertise to provide medical care to local residents and patients in Africa, Latin America and disaster areas including Haiti. Since 2010, numerous physicians and staff  members including nurses, surgical technicians and business office personnel have participated in these medical mission trips.

Our medical mission trips are organized through Centura Global Health Initiatives (CGH). In July 2014, physicians, nurses, office staff, physician assistants, vendor representatives and anesthesia personnel spent several weeks in Rwanda providing orthopaedic medical care to those in need.

Our staff and physicians have also participated in medical mission trips in the Congo, Haiti and Honduras.  We appreciate opportunities to help those in need and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff who participate in these extraordinary experiences.
